10/2-4/2009   SPSU attends and recruits at the SIEGE 2009 conference and hosts a Suite Party to demo student games on Saturday night thanks to the Georgia Department of Economic Development
9/18-20/2009   SPSU hosts the Georgia Fall Game Jam 2009 in coordination with Art Institute of Atlanta
8/2009   SPSU to offer first CGDD course - CGDD2002,  Fundamentals of Game Design
6/25/2009   SPSU hosts visiting group from the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Atlanta in game play and customization visit.
5/28/2009   Oceanography Simulation Workshop held between MCAA, TechMatters, and SPSU (with other regional visitors)
5/18/2009   The Atlanta Business Chronicle features SPSU's new CGDD degree.
5/13/2009   Articles concerning the Oceanography partnership and the new CGDD  degree run in the Marietta Daily Journal and the Atlanta Journal and Constitution newspapers.
5/12/2009   Board of Regents formally approves SPSU to offer the Bachelor of Science in Computer Game Design and Development.
3/3/2009   Oceanography Simulation STEM game development project funded.

SPSU participates in and is a host venue for the first annual Global Game Jam.

1/7/2009   First XBox360 and XNA-focused Programming and Problem Solving 2 (CSE1302) course to be offered at SPSU.

11/21/2008   SPSU Game Lab hosts field-trip and visitors from Hillgrove High School (Cobb County)

SPSU attends and recruits at the 2008 Southern Interactive Entertainment & Game Expo.

The student chapter of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) hosts a talk entitled "Neo-Shamans: Computing as Indistinguishable from Magic" by Dr. Preston.  Here is a WMV video (100Mb) of the talk.

The School of Computing and Software Engineering officially opened the game lab on SPSU campus.

Preston and Karam named to the Technical Advisory Board for Walton High School's Computer Science Team and help with their planned game development focused CS class.

8/18/2008  

The first XBox360 and XNA-focused Programming and Problem Solving 1 (CSE1301) course is offered at SPSU.  Due to increased demand, two sections of this course are offered by Morrison and Preston.
